1. Welcome
Avero is a mobile app for friend groups to save places, vote, and decide where to go together. By installing Avero, creating an account, or using any of our services (collectively, "Avero"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
These terms apply to the TestFlight beta as well as any future public release.
2. Who can use Avero
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- One account per person. Don't create multiple accounts to circumvent rules or limits.
- The information you provide must be accurate.
3. Your account
- Keep your password safe.
- You're responsible for everything that happens on your account.
- Tell us immediately at hello@avero.aydex.nl if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Your content
- You own what you post — saved places, votes, reactions, comments, photos.
- By posting in a group, you grant the other members of that group the right to view your content within Avero.
- You grant Avero a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, transmit, and back up your content for the sole purpose of running and improving the service. This license ends when you delete the content (with the exception of backups, which cycle out within ~90 days).
- You're responsible for the accuracy, legality, and rights of anything you post. Don't post things you don't have the right to share.
5. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
- Use Avero to harass, harm, threaten, or impersonate others.
- Upload illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or infringing content.
- Spam, scrape, or scrape-like behaviors.
- Reverse-engineer the app, attempt to extract source code, or circumvent technical limits.
- Attempt to access other users' data, break security, or interfere with the service.
- Use Avero for any illegal purpose under applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.
6. Beta software
Avero is in beta. That means:
- Bugs are expected. Things may break.
- Features may change, be removed, or be reset without notice.
- Data loss is possible, though we do our best to prevent it. Back up anything irreplaceable.
- Don't rely on Avero for time-critical or safety-critical decisions.
7. Third-party services
Avero integrates with services like Google Places, Supabase, Firebase Cloud Messaging, and Apple TestFlight. Your use of these is also governed by their respective terms of service. We're not responsible for the actions or outages of third-party providers.
8. Disclaimers
Avero is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of place data, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the app will be available, error-free, secure, or that the place information shown is correct.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Avero and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising out of your use of the app.
Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim. During the beta, that amount is zero.
10. Termination
- You can stop using Avero and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or if running the service for you becomes commercially unreasonable. We'll give you reasonable notice except in cases involving abuse, legal risk, or security threats.
- After termination, your data is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Avero evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you by email or in-app. Continued use of the app after the change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Avero will be resolved in the competent courts of the Netherlands, except where local consumer-protection law gives you a non-waivable right to bring the dispute in another forum.
